Program Information

We are seeking university-based teams in New York City that endeavor to start new companies that advance virtual and augmented reality technologies and other future interfaces. Teams that include faculty, students or recent graduates from any university in New York City are invited to apply. Designed for teams with an idea that they want to validate and turn into a business, this program will empower teams to adopt the "lean" startup method to develop a business model for their startup concept.

As a partnership between New York City and its universities, RLab’s mission is to support entrepreneurship and help commercialize new technologies emerging from the city’s universities. With a consortium of university partners and a network that includes startups, corporations and investors, RLab connects innovation emerging from universities to commercial opportunities in NYC and beyond.

The 10-week RLab Bootcamp program will run from September 13 - November 15, 2019. This program includes:

  • $10,000 grant to develop your business

  • Weekly programming focused on lean startup methodology

  • Workshops facilitated by world-class mentors, experienced entrepreneurs & business leaders, and experts in AR & VR technology

  • Access to a network of like-minded startups, as well as potential advisors & partners

  • Demo day with an opportunity to pitch to potential partners & investors
